TL;DR - We don't sell your data, track you, or save your password in a .txt file!
Your Data
As far as Archive is concerned, when you download the app, your data is still yours, we're not storing anything you don't write or upload in your logs, and none of the data you do write is ever used outside the app. If your data is used to improve the app, your explicit permission is taken beforehand and your data is scrubbed of any personally identifiable information (PII).
Tracking
No tracking cookies have been implemented in Archive's source code. Because of our conscious effort to make Archive a safe personal space, we do not monitor or collect your usage of your device outside the app, your device identifiers, or your internet activity. We collect non-identifiable analytics information such as the number of active users using Archive on a daily basis, average time spent in the app, and device types. This information is used to improve the app and will never be used 1) to target you with ads, 2) to sell to third parties, or 3) to track you outside of the app.
Security
All your data is stored securely in an encrypted MongoDB database with user-based access control. Authentication is managed by AWS-hosted industry-standard workflows. Throughout the app, functionality is restricted to you by constant token validation. Only you access your data. We just store it for you.
